INTERVIEW: JIMMY WIT AN H continues its extraordinary rise.

The remarkable rap duo Jimmy Wit An H formed by the so talented brothers TJ & Darian King continues its rise. Real workaholics, perfectionists and eclectic in the genres, their tunes are of an exceptional and high quality. Their  talent and their unique Hip Hop based sound led them to work with many great artists such as Sunday Service, FVCKDIVMONDS, Crystal Knives, BLVKSTN, SLVR, Haeworth to name a few. Their tunes have also been played by the biggest names such as Martin Garrix. I wanted to know more about these great artists, and their music.

Hello Jimmy Wit An H, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I am totally in love with your music and I would like you to tell us who is Jimmy Wit An H and what is the story behind this name?

It came from us being young to be honest. Around my 8th grade year I heard it while at school and just kept repeating all the way home. Mostly just because it was fun to say, but as we grew and got more into music, it characterizes our unique playful nature.

Did you plan at an early age to make a career in music?

Yeah, music has always played a role in coping with life. Writing was only an outlet. It turned into a career move once our team grew and the performing started happening. Getting paid to turn up? Why not?

As an artist, how is your creative process?

It's more of a vibe thing with us.

What is your musical path? How and when did you get to music? How did all start for your career?

"SEN" : Writing with friend we grew up with. We always were trying to out rhyme the next guy so it made us better w/o us noticing. Then my younger brother (jxmmy) started making beats ,so, yeah.

What are your musical influences?

A lot are rappers but a lot aren’t. Rapper wise I’d say DMX, Jay-z, Outcast, Eminem, Luda and Pac are some. But our roots stretch all the way to jazz by Kenny G, rock by Linkin Park and lets say Journey. To soul with Sam Cooke, Lionel Richie, and Marvin Gaye. Lots!

How would you define your style and what do you do to develop it?

Sporadic, only because of how we develop it. Whatever happens that day could end up in our music. But definitely internal struggles as well as external ones.

What is a typical day of production with Jimmy Wit An H?

Lots of beats! Then some good eats.

What are the projects you are working on and what can we expect for the future?

Our edm catalogue is always growing,  so look out for our collaborations and features in that realm. V3, and a documentary

Few months ago, you released the incredible album HI’s & LO’s, a masterpiece! What is the story of this album?

It was a great way to show the world our versatility on different type of beats for sure. But once we started creating it, I feel like we tried to display our growth in writing and production through the years. Ups and downs, Hi’s & Lo’s

What has been the rewarding thing in doing this album?

The responses of the people who’ve heard it.

Any chance to release a new one?

New album? of course, in due time.

You worked on many collaborations; what is the difficult part in working together with another artist?

Ego

How do you choose people you work with?

Skill level whether its writing or recording confidence, or just how they move in the industry. Which is why personality is another one.

Any dream collaboration?

T.I , J.Cole, Trouble, and then people like Troyboi, RL Grime, Hucci,

What is your favorite tune that you have produced and why?

"SEN" : Late night thoughts of the album. Its vibe is super chill but its still makes you move you know.
"JXMMY" : I can't pick one yet. I honestly don't know.

What kind of message do you want to deliver through your music?

That we not super thugged out and drugged up but you don’t have to be to have good time being alive.

Can you tell us a bit about your forthcoming tour dates?

Nope lol... We just don’t want to jinx it.

Any chance to see you in Canada? More precisely in Montreal?

We would love to visit Canada! We honestly have a really good feeling about that, but we'll let you know.

What is your biggest dream and the biggest challenge for you?

"SEN": Jimmy Wit An H headlining at a major event. Either here in the states or overseas, and a real challenge for me is being a social butterfly.

"JXMMY": What he said lol

What do you think of the music scene nowadays?

Its cool, we like how much fun everyone is having.

What affects you and makes you angry the most in the music industry?

We adapt more than anything so anger isn't a real issue with us. If we ever angry its interpreted through the raps so you'll know.

What is the project you are the most proud of?

As us as possible V2 was such a great project just listening to it all the way thru. But Hi's and Lo's is my jam too so its hard to pick between the two. its like asking a parent which child they love more lol

TJ, beside being a producer, an artist, you are also CEO of the great label Chicken Network. What is the story of the label? What is your objective with this label and what direction are you using to develop it more?

The reason we made this label is to promote music we think that should be heard. We love a wide variety of music and want to help create more opportunities for some really talented artists.
